• Dietary Restrictions & Allergies: (e.g., Gluten-free, Lactose-free, Vegan, Nut-free)

Important: This information is stored locally on your device. We do not upload this data to a central server associated with a personal identity profile.

B. Camera and Photo Library Usage

Labelscan requires access to your device’s camera to function.

• How it is used: We use the camera solely to scan barcodes, nutrition labels, and ingredient lists in real-time.

• Data Processing: The image data is processed to extract text (Nutrition facts and Ingredients). This processing happens instantly. We do not save your scanned photos to our servers or your camera roll unless you explicitly choose to save a product to your "History" or "Favorites."

C. Automatically Collected Data (Technical Data)

Like most mobile applications, we may collect certain non-personal technical information to ensure the App runs smoothly:

• Device Information: Model, operating system version, and unique device identifiers (not linked to your personal identity).

• Usage Data: Crash reports, launch times, and general interaction data (e.g., "How many times the scan feature was used"). This helps us fix bugs and improve performance.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected data for the following purposes:

• To Provide the Service: Analyzing food labels and translating them into health insights based on your specific settings (e.g., warning you if a product contains Gluten if you selected "Gluten-Free").

• To Improve the App: Analyzing anonymous usage trends to understand which features are most popular.

• To Maintain Your History: Saving your scanned products and favorites locally on your device so you can access them later.

3. Data Storage and Security

• Local Storage: Your dietary preferences, history, and badges are primarily stored locally on your device.

• Security: We implement reasonable security measures to protect your information. However, please be aware that no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure.

4. Third-Party Services

We may use third-party services to facilitate our App (e.g., for barcode databases or anonymous analytics). These third parties have access to your Personal Data only to perform these tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.

• Analytics: We may use tools (like Firebase Analytics or similar) to collect anonymous usage data. These tools do not track your personal identity.

Labelscan does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children. Since we do not ask for age or names, our App is safe for users of all ages.
